What is a Newman Center? Newman Centers function as the “parish home” for Catholic students attending a secular university. They are a home base for the celebration of the Mass, opportunities for faith formation, bible studies, mission trips, community, friendship, and more.

Here in the diocese of Kansas City – St. Joseph, we operate four Newman Centers:

Did you know that over half of all young adults under 30 years old who were raised Catholic, no longer even identify as Catholic, much less practice the faith?

Did you know that of those who do leave the practice of their faith, 80% do so by the time they’re 23 years old?

The work of Newman Centers in reaching out to college students is more important than ever. Unlike parishes, however, Newman Centers don’t take up collections. They have no regular revenue stream, but rely entirely on donations.

Will you help us sustain and grow this essential ministry?
